Things you do to make life easier as a working mum...

Anything to make my morning easier and quicker suits me perfectly.

That person who says you can’t have it all is partly right as there are always things that fall to the bottom of the pile…like my ironing for one.

Being a mum of two young boys and a business owner, my day to day routine can be a bit manic and stressful, to say the least.  Trying to get two boys and myself dressed, fed and organised by 8:15 am requires a lot of prioritisation and sadly the things at the bottom of the pile are usually my things, like hair, makeup…and general put togetherness.  So if I can take one more thing off my list in the morning then I am laughing…and eyelashes is one of them.

I have had eyelash extensions a number of times throughout that last 11 years or so...first time was just before I got married and I loved them but since then I will be honest, I have struggled to get a set that's right for me.  They have all technically been beautiful but just not quite me, mostly a few centimetres too long...and as a frequent glasses wearer, this is a major problem which has resulted in me never having them topped up.

So I had actually resigned myself to the fact that maybe they just weren’t for me.

Until my last set that is.

Leanne at All Eyes On Me invited me along to see her brand new Glasgow City Centre Lash bar.  This is AEOM’s second lash bar, the first being in the Cumbernauld area and after a massively successful first year that actually saw them win the Scottish Hair and Beauty Award for eyelash extension specialist of the year Leanne knew the time was right to open their Glasgow one and branch out.

The lash bar is set in the already popular Central Chambers on Hope Street, just opposite Central Station...which is super handy and it is already home to Scotlands first hair and makeup academy outside of London, The Academy of Makeup and the amazing Swoon Nails too.

Leanne and her team have transformed the studio into a warm, bright and welcoming space that transports you from the hustle and bustle of the city streets to a very zen-like state, only to emerge with lashes that suit you and your needs...and for me, ticks one thing off the list in the morning that I don't need to do!  Hooray!

On arrival, I had a consultation with Leanne and I explained to her my experience of lashes in the past and the fact that I need them to be glasses friendly but still allow me to go mascara-free and look glam at the same time.  Easier said than done, but not for Leanne she assures me.

She recommended that we go for classic lashes, with a short length which will allow me to have my glasses on with no interference but still be bold enough to be seen.  Sounds good to me!

So up on the bed, I popped and cosied under a big fluffy blanket.  Bliss! Three words I live by these days are “Self care matters”. And this is definitely self-care.  I have always loved how relaxing having your eyelashes done is, it's like someone is knitting away at your lashes.  Very I drifted off for a much-needed zone out.

After around 1.5 hours...which did not feel like that by the way...the result?

The most perfect lashes I have ever had, genuinely.  Leanne listened to what I wanted and needed and delivered exactly that.  Praise the lord!

I am now 2 weeks into my new lashes and I have hardly had any fallout, they look as good as they did the day I had them done.

The All Eyes On Me motto…

“At All Eyes On Me, our mantra isn’t to simply have our clients walk out of the door looking and feeling a million dollars, it’s to offer a tailored service to each individual lash princess or prince.”

All Eyes One Me offers everything from Lash lifts to express lashes to Classic lashes to XD Russian Volume to Hybrid Lashes...which is apparently a mix of the two, something that I am going to try next time as Leanne ensures me that she can still keep the length short but the drama high.

It is also worth mentioning that AEOM is an accredited Lash Training School too and offer training courses and 121 tuitions.

To book an appointment with Leanne and her team of highly trained lash artists pop onto their website and use their online booking system.
